This week.....
This week I found my Otago maths sheet really challenging but I enjoyed it because my favourite subject is maths and I like to challenge myself. My goal for my Otago maths sheet was to not give up and keep on persisting until the 30 minute timer was up. I was proud of the things that I saw a big difference in like the things that I wouldn’t have known at the start of the year.

C.O.P.E
C.O.P.E
C stands for curiosity, O stands for open mindedness, P stands for persistence and E stands for empathy. I need to be more curious. Mr Anderson and Mum and Dad can help me when I get stuck. I love to learn maths, writing, W.I.T., art and reading.

All about me
Hi, my name is Michaela and I love animals. I like to learn in a quiet area where there is no noise. I need to work on W.I.T. (W.I.T. is learning about questions, answering them and Finding out about key words and phrases.) I like to read but I need to build up my strength on reading.

Len lye art gallery visit
The Len lye art gallery is so cool when I first stepped into art gallery I thought “WOW”! It was amazing. My experience at the art gallery was unforgettable. I learnt lots about Len Lye himself how he liked moving art and art that makes music and I also learnt about his art.
At the art gallery I was quite interested in a piece of art called “Universe”. It was this big loop of stainless steel with a wooden ball hanging from the roof and every half an hour the big loop of stainless steel would start moving hitting the wooden ball above making music. This Universe piece of art started with the name of “The Loop” because of it's look and that was the only name Len Lye could think of but then once he heard a little boy say the word universe and it hit Len Lye that he should call The Loop "Universe" because of the sound it makes when the ball hits the stainless steel loop and that's how he got the name of Universe.
I really liked Len Lye’s styles of art and how he liked moving art and art that makes music. To be honest art that is moving and art that moves is pretty cool!

Making Connections
Making Connections is a good way to help you understand the text. It makes you think about how you can relate to the text that you are reading e.g. you could have heard about the topic before, you could have done the topic before, someone could have told you about the topic before and also you could have seen the topic being done before.
